So you are leaving soon for vacation? Me too! I leave in 2 sleeps! I know we don’t know each other that well yet but I am one of those people that I am not where I want to be goals; so, I am going to work while I am on vacation. You are either one of those control freaks like me and you are breathing a sigh of relief like OMG me too or you are shaking your head in disgust saying, “NO, absolutely not I am not working”. Hear me out; some of my tips might not be what you think of as work. I only have 3 things I do to work my business while I am on vacation and maybe a 4th thing if you are on a company incentive trip.
Go live as much as you can/post as many pics as you can
You really want to get people’s attention. I mean how awesome is it to be on vacation on a Monday when the rest of the world is pissed they have to go to work, they sat in traffic for more than an hour and you are showing everyone your sitting in a hammock with some of your bffs having fruity drinks! Going live allows people to dream with you, to envision themselves with you next year and to have EXTREME FOMO (fear of missing out) which can be a good thing if they are thinking about joining your business! Going live also helps to pump up your team and also you can thank your customers for all their support because in a lot of cases you are on vaca because they decided to support your business in some capacity. Posting pics is the same mentality! Get people dreaming bigger and increasing the vision for their life!
Read a business book and pour into yourself
To some this is WORK. I know for a long time I hated to read and now I love it. I also LOVE to listen to books though audible. When you are relaxing, laying on the beach, by the pool or on the plane you can invest in yourself. Read a self-help, leadership, team building, or business minded book! When you know more and grow yourself you will watch amazing things happen around you, in your business and with your team! Knowledge really is power.
Talk to those around you
So often we get stuck in our own world. The world revolves around me and everyone is in it mentality. I get this way on vacation. I lay there, I don’t want to talk to anyone or meet anyone knew because it really is a lot of work. HELLO, you never know who is sitting next to you! Your next leader or even customer could be there. All it takes is some simple questions to open the conversation and get to know them! You never know who might love your business!
If you are on an incentive trip make sure you network while you are gone
You are most likely with the best of the best and why not learn from them while you are sipping on some fruity drinks. You can find out their secrets, learn where they are at in your company, how did they get there, what is there top tip for an area you struggle in, what is an area you feel as a leader you can improve on that they might be amazing at and what do they see for themselves in the future with the company? As much as you want to learn from those around you, learning how you can serve and support them in their journey will also help to create a relationship with that person but you never know what you might be able to offer them, in terms of knowledge and support.
