It’s been a minute but I am back! Yeah yeah I have said that before but no really…… WHY am I back with a mission? Because this is something I LOVE, a platform that I enjoy sharing on and I am a priority to me 😊
I was recently reading a great book by Rachel Hollis called Girl Wash Your Face.
Serious though, that book has been eye opening and life changing in more than one way! You need it!
There was something that really hit home with me. It was ME and the way I was treating myself.
Do this for me. Take out a piece of paper and write your top 5 priorities on it and then come back and finish this blog…. Go ahead, I will wait here.

HELLO WTF notice anything wrong with this? I mean technically number 2 could be split up in to two numbers but notice anything different?
I didn’t list myself as a priority! This was a HUGE wake up call. Did you list yourself as a priority? If you did WHOOP great job! Did you list yourself as number 1? If you did WHOOP! You are doing big things for yourself and I am super pumped for you.
If you didn’t and you were like me, don’t fret. We just have some work to do. I want you to think WHY you may not have listed yourself as a priority. Why do you forget about you? Why do you feel it is more important to put others needs ahead of your own? If you are thinking oh I put my needs in front of others. Let’s be real, no you don’t, if you didn’t even remember to add YOU, the most important person in your life to your list.
For me this was a huge news flash, eye opening, awe struck moment of Amanda, you need to get your shit together, re-evaluate life and what’s important because clearly you don’t have it together or at least your priorities.
At the time about 5 months ago, my husband would nag me. He would say you are going to kill yourself if you keep working so hard. Your friends miss you, I miss you and I would like to have a wife again. 16 hours days, let me tell you they aren’t all they are cracked up to be when you aren’t still making your priorities a priority. Well as much as I didn’t ever want to admit, he was right. I fell into about 2 weeks of sickness I just couldn’t kick, and not putting myself on the list or as a priority really had me down for the count. God has a funny way of telling you and showing you what you should be changing up.
Do you think I listened? Well I did a bit. I took my current priority list above and prioritized in that order, but I didn’t add myself to the list yet. I kept pushing and pushing and thinking I was on track and putting my time and energy where I needed to. I still wasn’t until I got sick again that I was like WHOA, something needs to change and that something was putting me back on the list! Number 1 on the list.
If you are sitting there thinking you make you a priority, I want you to really think….
Do you put your choices first? Do you take personal time for your daily? Do you make healthy decisions for your food you are consuming? Are you reading and self-educating and getting better every day? Are you surrounding yourself with positive people and things?
Remember if you aren’t a priority to you, why would others make you a priority. That for me was another kick in the pants. You tell people how to treat you and it all starts with how you treat yourself. Flash forward…. I am doing things I LOVE again and taking time for me and this blog is one of them.
Share this with at least one person you know does for everyone else but never, spends, takes time or loves on them self. They are worth it and they deserve to be a priority for them!
